Competency Framework

A competency framework is described by a hierarchy of competency blocks broken down into competencies, each of which consists of a list of capabilities.

A capability refers to knowledge, skills, or interpersonal skills.

Creating Your Framework

Creating your framework can be done by import (see the example file in the Import tab) or via the web interface.

The + button on the line of a competency block allows you to create a new competency.

The + button on the line of a competency allows you to create a new capability.

You must indicate the validation threshold out of 100 and the weighting of a capability within the competency. If the capabilities of a competency are validated, then the competency is validated, which in turn triggers an update at the competency block level.

Qualifications Framework

A qualification is obtained by validating a set of competency blocks.

A qualification may correspond to a CQP (Certificate of Professional Qualification) in the context of professional branches.

A qualification is linked to a family defined by a code and a name.

The qualification is itself referenced by its name and code, and it is described by all the competency blocks that allow it to be validated. A user can request training to obtain a qualification.

Occupations Framework

For each occupation, we can define the competency blocks that an employee practicing that occupation must master.

Each occupation is linked to a family of occupations.

Thus, an employee can compare their skills portfolio with the occupation framework to see if they have already validated the competencies that would allow them to progress to another occupation or to identify the competencies that they still need to validate, and possibly request appropriate training.
